Wednesday 16th May
On Wednesday 16th May we are gathering, along with churches all around the world, to pray for God’s Kingdom to come.
Prayer is so important.
It was once said, “When I pray, coincidences happen, and when I don’t, they don’t.”
We’re beginning to dream big as a church, and that includes seeing God’s Kingdom come in Wallington, Roundshaw and beyond. We long to see lives transformed by Jesus in our community, and this starts with prayer.
We begin our 12 hours of prayer at midday, and until 8pm you are encouraged to sign up for an hour slot and gather with others in your home, or a cafe, or even outside to pray together.
How you pray is completely up to you! But we will be providing some resources and pointers to help you on your way.
You can sign up online here
And the resource leaflet is here: 18.05 Prayer Resources leaflet_pdf (which folds into thirds if printed out) or you can collect a printout on Sunday at WHSG which will also be available at St Pauls on the Wednesday from 8pm
Or on the sheet at church on Sunday
Then, at 8pm, we will be gathering at St Paul’s Roundshaw to continue in prayer – and you are all invited to join us for this. There will be worship, prayer activities, and space to explore other opportunities to join in with this global initiative until 10pm, after which there will be two more 1hr prayer slots in St Paul’s. We’ll finish our 12 hours at midnight.

On 20th May at 6.00pm we will be joining others from across the diocese at Southwark Cathedral for a Pentecost Celebration service
Join us as we pray for the Holy Spirit to set our hearts on fire with confidence and joy in sharing and living the Gospel. This service is the culmination of Thy Kingdom Come – nine days of prayer from Ascension to Pentecost.
