“God doesn’t call the equipped…
God equips the called”
One of our core values is that of All Involved. We believe that God uses us to grow his Kingdom- not always where we feel most comfortable!
We are therefore asking you to consider and pray about whether you’re able to help with one of the roles below. Most of them consist of committing to one Sunday a month and they each, in different ways, build God’s Kingdom.
God, apparently, is no respecter of age or background. So, especially if you aren’t involved in a ministry, do consider if one of these might be for you.
Monthly Commitment Ministries
Led by a co-ordinator, the team plays a vital role to get everything ready for our service, from flags and banners to chairs and coffee equipment, plus the equipment for our youth and children’s work.
You can choose to be part of a ‘job share’ and only set up or set down on a particular Sunday.
The crèche is a vital part of serving and supporting our youngest families and cares for our under 3s.
Helpers set up at 10.15am, gather in the family corner at the start of the service and head off to crèche after the second song.
Enhanced DBS checks are made for all helpers.
Projector Team for our Breathe services
A key ministry that helps us worship. Training is given and the playlist is normally pre-loaded by the Office each week. You don’t need to have great technical skills to be able to do this role but it has a big impact on our worship.
Craft at the MiX
The MiX is one of our most popular ministries for young people. We are looking for someone to run a Craft activity, sitting at a table with a few young people at a time and chatting with them as they work. An enhanced DBS check is required.
Weekly Commitment Ministries
We need someone who is familiar with many of the social platforms (e.g. Facebook and potentially Instagram and Twitter) who could make regular posts and support what is going on in the Church, making information known and replying to queries, comments etc.
We are looking for a female leader for year 7s to join the team, working with an existing leader to lead a small group for our newest youth members. Working with the youth is a commitment but a very rewarding one: leaders are needed three out of four weeks a month, and there is a monthly Youth leaders’ meeting, usually on a Monday night. As well as this we run Youth socials on an occasional basis, though usually there is only a proportion of the team at each. An enhanced DBS check is required.
Serving on one of the teams is a great way to get to know people, make friends and have fun while being an active part of the church, knowing you are making a difference.
We know people’s circumstances change over time, and you are always free to commit for a fixed period, step down from, or change roles where you serve, ideally with a bit of notice as it helps us to plan.
