Gordon Ironside
Hi, I’m Gordon, married to Rachael and a worshipper at Springfield since a few weeks after it started.
I taught at Sutton Grammar School for over 36 years (headteacher for 29 years). My main subject was Maths but I also taught GCSE RE, enjoying learning about Hindu and Muslim philosophy too.
Now retired, I run a Maths competition for the London’s top Maths schools and am chair of governors at Sutton’s medical PRU. I still take an interest in the statistics of student performance (e.g. at 11+). I also help at the Roundshaw foodbank and at the Holy Trinity Debt Centre.
For recreation I play a fair bit of sport: tennis, golf and cycling, plus chess, and board games with the family.
