Finding Joy: Just Ask
Jon introduces our motto verse for 2021 from 1 Peter 1.6-7, and we discover why seeking and growing in the ‘wonderful joy’ that is part of our inheritance in Christ is so important. It starts with wanting it, and as Jesus tells his disciples in John 16.24, all we need do is ask.

What is God doing in your life? Where is He on the move? What are you praying and hoping for?
As we prepare for Christmas, Jon is also encouraging us to prepare for what God’s got planned for you and for Springfield. And to do this we’re going to look at how some of the people involved in the nativity story prepared for God to move. This week is Joseph, in Matthew 1.18-24, who prepares for God to move by putting God first.
He’s STILL got the whole world in His hands – Hope

In this final Dangerous Prayer, Jon looks at Psalm 139.23-24. This is actually four prayers – 1. Search my heart. 2. Reveal my fears. 3. Uncover my sins. 4. Lead me. And we explore how God wants to answer this prayer to show us the rubbish in our lives that He wants to give us freedom from.

We now reach the Dangerous Prayer where we are asking God to ‘Break our heart’. David uses Jeremiah 8: 18-21 as we look at what this means for us

Luke explores the example of Samuel learning to hear God’s voice and praying the prayer ‘Speak to me’ in 1 Samuel 3.1-13. The things we learn are Be Still and listen, Be Willing to wait, and Be Ready to act.
